This was a fresh crack early in the morning after being away from whiskey for about two weeks, so my palate may still be reacclimating. Even so, this pour showed some really enjoyable character.

Sweet oak immediately jumps out, followed by fresh cut pears and yellow apples. Thereโs a layer of dry English tobacco that adds some depth, along with light brown sugar, a drizzle of honey, and a touch of black pepper.

Spicy roasted almonds lead the way, backed by mild milk chocolate and vanilla. The oak presence sits nicely in the mid-palate, giving it a balanced structure without overpowering the sweeter notes.

Medium length with a nice warm Kentucky hug. The roasted almond note carries through along with a lingering spice.

It sheets the glass well but the legs drop fairly quickly, showing a slightly lighter viscosity. The mouthfeel leans a bit thinner, which actually lets the nutty and oak-driven flavors show clearly.

This is where it really shines. Sweet oak and beautiful tobacco notes come forward alongside dates, marshmallow, and a creamy sweetness.
Overall, this is a high-proof pour with a nice balance of oak, nuttiness, and subtle sweetness, and itโs one Iโm interested to revisit after the bottle has had some time to open up.
