Tasting Notes
Nose: Inviting aromas of black tea, burnt caramel, and warm oven-fresh pastries are layered with toasted malt, subtle cocoa, and lightly roasted coffee beans. The stout influence is evident but beautifully integrated into the bourbon.
Palate: Rich and silky with an oily mouthfeel. Roasted malt, dark caramel, toasted nuts, and bittersweet cocoa lead the way before giving way to baking bread, sweet oak, and a touch of espresso. The stout finish enhances the bourbon without overpowering its natural sweetness.
Finish: Long, warming, and coating. Lingering notes of roasted malt, cocoa, toasted oak, and lightly roasted coffee fade slowly alongside a gentle pepper spice and rich, dark sweetness that remains well after the sip.

Heaven’s Sweet Dram is the result of an extraordinary collaboration between Crittenden Distillery and Lazy Magnolia Brewing Company. After aging bourbon in these barrels, they were filled with Lazy Magnolia’s Jefferson Stout, allowing the beer to leave behind layers of roasted malt, cocoa, and dark sweetness before the barrels were filled once again with bourbon.
The result is a whiskey that showcases the best of both worlds. Rich notes of burnt caramel, black tea, toasted pastries, roasted malt, and bittersweet cocoa are wrapped in an exceptionally smooth, oily mouthfeel. Rather than masking the bourbon, the stout finish adds remarkable depth and complexity while preserving the sweet oak foundation that defines Crittenden’s bourbon.
If you enjoy dessert-inspired bourbons with layers of roasted malt, espresso, cocoa, and rich oak, Heaven’s Sweet Dram delivers a unique sipping experience that’s both comforting and memorable.
