Tasting Notes
Nose: Bright and inviting with sweet floral aromas layered over creamy caramel, old-fashioned root beer, and a subtle effervescent quality that gives the whiskey a lively, almost soda-like character. Beneath it all rests a gentle toasted oak sweetness.
Palate: Richly flavored yet remarkably approachable. Roasted nuts, dark caramel, and sweet malt take center stage with a softer, less viscous mouthfeel that allows each flavor to shine. The beer finish contributes a pleasant roasted grain character while complementing—not masking—the bourbon.
Finish: Exceptionally long with waves of buttery roasted nuts, dark malt, and rich beer-barrel character. Toasted oak and gentle baking spice linger alongside a deep, malty sweetness that slowly fades into a warm, satisfying finish.

Southern Charm is a collaboration between Crittenden Distillery and Lazy Magnolia Brewing Company, bringing together two Mississippi craftsmen in one unforgettable pour. After aging Lazy Magnolia’s Southern Gentleman beer, the barrels were returned to Crittenden and filled once again with bourbon, creating a whiskey that’s both distinctive and remarkably balanced.
The nose opens with floral sweetness, creamy caramel, and nostalgic root beer before transitioning into a palate filled with roasted nuts, dark caramel, and rich malt. Unlike many beer-finished bourbons, Southern Charm lets the beer barrel complement the whiskey rather than dominate it, adding layers of roasted grain and dark sweetness while allowing Crittenden’s bourbon to remain the star.
The result is a bourbon with an exceptionally long finish where buttery roasted nuts, toasted malt, and lingering beer-barrel richness create a sip that’s comforting, unique, and incredibly easy to revisit.
